Example Itinerary

1. How long is the parade? 

The parade route is one mile in length, starting at the corner of Constitution Ave NW and 7th St NW, and ending at Constitution Ave NW and 17th St NW and typically lasts 2 hours. with a start time of 11:45AM

2. Where is the best spot to view the Parade?

Generally, the closer one gets toward the end of the parade route, at 17th St NW, the less crowded it is and therefore it’s easier to see the route. *If you are looking for seating for the parade, there is limited seating available on the steps of the National Archives Building at the starting point of the parade.

3. Is there an alternate time for the parade in case of inclement weather?

Unfortunately, there isn't an alternate time scheduled for the parade in case of rain. However, the safety of our participants and spectators is our top priority. On parade day, we closely monitor weather forecasts and follow the guidance of the National Park Service and Weather Service. If weather conditions are deemed unsafe, a decision will be made to cancel the parade.
